Tissot, the Representative of Innovation

As the representative of Swiss classic watches, Tissot represents more than a watch, but rather a spirit—the innovative spirit.

Earlier in 1853, Tissot was born in Swiss, defining itself as the “innovator of tradition”. In the years afterward till now, having been through nearly 150 years, Tissot does follow its oath to become the innovator of tradition.

Tissot’s innovative spirit is well embodied in details. Right in the first year after the company’s establishment, Tissot manufactured the first pocket watch, representing the technical innovation of watch. Guided by its innovative spirit, in 1953, Tissot, pioneering all other watches brands, manufactured the first watch in the world with an automatic World Time design, namely the “Navigator”. With such great achievement, Tissot never stops looking for innovation. In 1971, it manufactured the world’s first mechanical powered watch with a plastic face. It is advancing. Fourteen years later, in 1985, the company produced the rock watch. Soon afterward in 1998, Tissot put into market a watch made of high-tech and anti-sensitive material which is the hyper-modern watch design at that time. All these are great examples of Tissot’s innovative spirit. And the innovative spirit is also one of the reasons why Tissot becomes world known and century old watch brand.

From the above, we can see Tissot is well worthy of the award “The Representative of Innovation”. In my humble opinion, every start-up company should learn from Tissot. Every start-up company should learn to be innovative and never stop looking for innovation.
